Green Tea..please help???

I drink Jasmine Green tea and have been told that to sweeten it, the best thing is to use brown sugar..as the Chinese do.

Please can u tell me WHICH brown sugar to use? I tried it with demerara and it did not taste right.

Can anyone tell me which brown sugar is best…which is used in China?

Green Tea..please help???
The chinese uses the rock sugar. Sometimes it comes in irregular in shape. Yellowish colour. Can get it in ethnic store.

They call it Bing Tang.
Reply:Sorry, I drink it myself and I find that brown sugar has too much flavor. Try using white sugar or honey - they taste better. The amount varies base on your taste. I don't like it too sweet so I only use a tablespoon at most.
Reply:i work at a tea store and we sweeten all our teas with GERMAN ROCK cane sugar...it enhances the flavour of the tea without changing the taste of it...its molases based and fewer caloreis than regular sugar.. you can puchase this at a TEAVANA store or from www.teavana.com OR i think whole Foods has an imitation of it =)
Reply:have you tried raw cane sugar or evaporated cane sugar.

they are both available and they work great in lots of recipes that call for sugar.
Reply:i can't imagine sweetening jasmine tea

why corrupt its natural subtlties?

it is currently my fave

i only add a couple drops of honey to earl grey

or an english breakfast tea
Reply:May I humbly suggest you try using the most natural of sweetners - honey. Just keep adding until it tastes the way you like it, I am sure that was used before refined cane products were even thought of !! Personally I like the tea unsweetened, try it, it might grow on you. Good tea drinking... chin chin
Reply:Actually Chinese use rock sugar or crystal sugar - 冰糖 [bing tang] - you could find these in plastic packages in Chinese grocery stores around the country.
