Best way to get green card?

i have a friend in china wanting to move to the US when he tries to apply online he says he is chinese parents are chinese he has a job and college and hit say he isnt eligible im wonder why? he is 19 very well educated english great ALOT better then most immigrants so im wondering what the best he should about apply for a green card he really want to come to america as soon as possible of course legally without marring people.Thanks

Has he considered contacting the U.S. Embassy directly and asking them? I doubt anyone here has access to the information he is looking for since it sounds like the response was rather vague.





I'm not up on all the requirements for legal immigration. I do know that having a job here in the states makes it much easier; the employer handles the paperwork then. Just having a job in China doesn't mean much.

It is a lot easier to get it illegal than to try it legal


My wife and I went through the process. We saw that the harder you try to get the green card the longer it takes.
Reply:He cannot get a green card just because he wants to. There are steps in becoming a legal resident. The best way to move to the U.S. legally in his situation is with a working visa (a company must sponsor him) or a student visa.

Reply:an employment-based immigration visa would probably be a possible for him. he needs a US employer that will hire him and file a petition him for this kind of visa.
