How to join U.S military without a green card.?

Hi, I am a foreign student in the U.S. I grew up in a dictatorship so I have a great hatred for regions where communism thrive such as Russia and China(yes,Russia is technically not but who are you kidding if you say Putin is not).

I have loved U.S all my life and I have always wanted to serve in the U.S military(so that I can kick the crap out of communists one day)but I am told that I need to have a green card first, which will be sometime. Is there anyway for people like myself to join the U.S Army,Navy,AF. I know some people will say I am crazy because they have been fed too much media condemnation of the U.S from alot of left wing news organizations from inside and outside the country. But what I can say is that there are more people across the world who love America than the people who hate it. I am not naive, this is plain and simple, if 3 bad buys are fighting and none of them are honest but one is 85% honest(U.S) and others are 10% honest, then who will you rather deal wit

How to join U.S military without a green card.?
As said before, you cannot join the US military without a greencard... But you should try to apply for one.

To the poster above me, your first statement is actually not true. My card is going to expire way before my enlistment is up. Also, there are waivers for Security Clearance for Permant Residents under certain circumstances.
Reply:I'm afraid you will need a green card.

Regarding your slightly flawed logic (speaking as someone who has served alongside Americans) I'd actually rather deal with someone 10% honest because I'm more likely to know where I stand. Basically it's the same as the old saying "Better the devil you know than the one you don't.".

Also, you may want to do a little more research into the US's current political stance on Communism before you make it to an application interview. It's not the 60's anymore.
Reply:Did you information come from the lips of a militay recruiter??? If not go see a recruiter. Ask if their is any way they can help you to achieve getting a card...
Reply:a student visa is NOT enough..you MUST have a valid Green card/be a legal Permanent Resident.

there are no ways around this requirement.
Reply:sorry to say you actually do need a green card no exceptions
Reply:Alright as a green card holder myself i can kinda answer this one. Basically there is no way to join the service with out a green card. I pressume you have a VISA or something, which isnt enough to get you in. As it is with my Green card i got a lot of slack, but the good news... go ahead and submit for a green card, and obviously with your dedication and courage you will have no problem waiting right? once you get it go ahead and enlist. and then once you are in, they will go ahead and help you get citizenship. so i mean you kinda have to give to get type thing but good luck bro!
Reply:All I know is that at the very least, you need a Social Security Number, which you can get if you're an F-1 student, but it's difficult. I actually think this should be the only way to make people who are otherwise here "illegally" legal. If they serve, they can stay. If you were illegal, though, it would be a problem, but since you're here on some sort of visa, there may just be a way. Talk to a recruiter, goodness knows we need the people!
Reply:I don't know, but God Bless you. We need more Americans like you, and your not even American. Always strive for your dreams and never stop. You do need to be a resident in order to join the Military though. Talk to your local recruiter for help on this issue, and if he is no help contact another one.
Reply:You have to have a gren crd to enlist. In fact, in order to enlist you must have a green card that is valid for the entire lenth of your enlistment. You would be unable to reenlist unless you became a US Citizen. Your job opportunities as a green card holder in the US military are severely limited. A green card holder cannot have any position in the military that requires a security clearance.
Reply:Man you have to have some kind of papers to be here or you are illegal. So if you have paper go to a recruiting office with whatever you have and ask a recruiting officer what you have to do to get in.
Reply:There are programs for foreigners to earn their American citizenship by serving our Country in the U.S. military. Check your local Army or navy recruting office for details and information. Check GoArmy.com. The military has ways of making exceptions in certain cases in order to get new recruits.
