If Bush Would Have Spent $2TRILLION On Getting U.S.A. Off Of Foreign Oil, Would Terrorists Be Going Broke?

Had Bush spent our grandchildren,s SSi on research and production of renewable energy instead of going to war to protect our oil supply, we would be 7 years into the program by now and well on the way to energy independence.America could have lead the world in green technology creating millions of good paying jobs and eliminating our need for foreign oil. The $ Americans spend on foreign oil/gas provides a large % of the terrorist`s funding.Making this war redundant. Bush could have gone down in history as the president who put America back to work,cleaned up the environment,Halted global warming,Starved Alqidea out of existence, And made America the world leader of green Technology b4 we ended up dependent on China for that too! But.......... Instead, He invaded Iraq ,A country that had NOTHING to do with 9-11,Had no WMDs creating 10Xs the terrorists we were facing b-4 9-11.

Bush is an oil man. He makes money from oil. He went to war with Iraq because of oil and Saddam's assassination attempt on his father. The welfare of the US was the furthest thing from his mind. He is a traitor.
Reply:Every dollar that Bush spends is appropriated by Congress. The President has absolutely no power (other than a veto, which can be overturned) to decide how our taxes our spent.





Take Iraq for example: The President goes to Congress and asked them for money, Congress either approves or denies. So far they have approved his requests.





If the President wanted to earmark money for the discovery of alternative fuels to decrease our dependency on foreign oil, he would have to go Congress and convince them to do so.





Congress has absolute power over the purse and the President can spend nothing with Congressional approval. So Congress is the one ultimately to blame if you disagree with how our taxes are being spent.





If the President had not invaded Iraq, do you really believe Congress would have given him the same amount of money we have so far spent there (which is not $2 trillion), to spend on those programs you mentioned? No, they would have laughed at him.
Reply:It looks to me definite that the American supporters of Israel caused this war to protect Israel, all the rest is baloney.





A Nobel Prizewinning economist calculated that the Iraq war will cost $2,000,000,000,000 (2 trillion $) as you point out; considering this cost oil could not have been the reason.They must have known WMD was a lie, I did as soon as I heard it.





The lesson is ; don't fire scuds at Israel otherwise the American supporters of Israel will take you out with American lives and money

Reply:I don't know how far down the green road we'd be, but I will certainly concede the point that $2 billion could have been spent in much better ways.
Reply:You must not have been paying no attention when the Democrats filibustered every energy bill that would have allowed new refineries, increased drilling and expansion of nuclear energy.





In short Republicans have tried and the only thing Democrats go for is turning our food and feed stocks into alcohol which is a poor fuel.
