What's the damn point?

Of Green taxing Europeans to death when the USA and CHINA are by far the biggest polluters in the world?

What's the damn point?
I agree, I don't mind all the things we have to do to help the environment and I think all Europeans are like this even if it is hard work or expensive. But bloody USA (lazy, wasteful and arrogant) China and India (not their fault per se as they are trying to modernise their countries) are moreto blame and they are the ones we should be forcing to shape up.
Reply:If nice Mr Blair asks the US and China to ''STOP IT'' I'm sure they will understand and ''come to the party''You know he has a lot of influence with these people.Nothing to worry about. No Problemo!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:The bush administration has too many close ties with the big corporations that are the main offenders so unless they say its OK, then bush %26amp; his cronies will continue to give the earth the big finger in the name of profits (for them, not anyone else). Unless the American public ban together to demand that THEIR gov do something positive, then arrogance %26amp; profits will prevail and the future generations will inherit a wasteland. China %26amp; Australia need to follow suit.
Reply:The world is round folks and we all must do our parts.
Reply:the point is better that SOMEBODY does something about it than that everybody keeps pointing fingers at everyone else and claiming they are bigger polluters.
Reply:I agree with you 110%
Reply:bravo....here here... at last someone who is not afraid to speak out
Reply:Damm right!!

BTW: Germany has the cleanest Country and the best Recycling System. It costs them so much that their economy is stalling.

Still in germany you can drink water from the crane.

But whats the point if the rest of the world is shitting themself to death?
Reply:In Shanghai they are registering a 1000 vehicles a day.

Imagine how many new vehicles must going on to the roads in China every day let alone in 10 years.

We are all stuffed in regards to Global Warming
Reply:Trust me bro, we pay the price here in the us. Even the state inspections for our cars cost $40 plus. They check your emmisions by sticking a tube up your exaust pipe. No pass, no drive
Reply:You seem to miss the point ,that the UK Does have an influence over the rest of the world. Our way of life here has been closely modelled in many placers around the world and will be in the future too.
Reply:Yeah, and even China has a reason (1 billion people man)
Reply:AMEN my brother. AMEN
Reply:I was in India in february of this year and i bet they are 10 times worse there than china!

Thousands of old rickety vehicles churning out black smoke, loads of business pumping out toxic clouds, there was a whole area we drove through where the air made me baulk it was so bad.

You can even taste the fumes in the air.

As long as we have growing countries like this all over the world, our half hearted efforts here in the UK wont make bugger all diffrence.
Reply:So we have nice warm gooey sensation when we go to sleep. I was amazed when I read how salad like lettuce is bad for the environment as it provides little nutritionally but requires VERY large amounts of water, chemicals and sometimes light to produce.
Reply:Yes Windymilla

Everyone should use wind turbines!
Reply:Our little bit of soot/gas/whatever is minute compared to U.S.A. China etc. but if those greedy politicians (Think Brown) can devise a new way to tax us, they will. Hiding a new tax under a "GREEN BANNER " makes them look good, and probably makes them feel good, it's not clean air they are after, but more of our hard earned money. Part of the qualifications to become a M.P. is being able to lie, lie, LIE.
