Why is Australia & the USA the ONLY countries to NOT sign the Kyoto treaty on Global Warming ? APEC ?

At the upcoming APEC (Asian Pacific Economic Confederation) Australia %26amp; our Greatest Allie the USA are the only Nations who have refused to sign the Kyoto Treaty to commit to reducing green house gas emissions globally why ? Apparently BOTH our countries are preparing for a political show down with Russia and China over green house gas emmissions. I don't understand how or why we both arn't in favour of trying to prevent global warming ?

American and Australian business intrest would be greatly hampered by the protocol. They could recover after a period of adjustment and become competitive again in the Global Market. However since the treaty does not hold all nations to the same standard it would provide an unfair business advantage to some competitive markets. It would have too great of an impact on our own nations ability to do business. It sounds all right until people start losing jobs. Honestly a clean environment aint worth two dolphins and a whale gettin it on when people cant find work.
Reply:There may be different reasons, not sure which, but i think by not signing they may be trying to give the impression they don't believe in it, or that they don't care and believe in man made global warming and are trying to get people to hate the americans. And then they sign it when ready as if to repent or something, to give more credence to the global. warming thing, you know reverse psychology.





Or maybe they know it is a farce and have some other agendas to fulfill before they hammer the american people with a co2 tax. Or maybe it is because the global warming thing is the product of other groups unrelated to the usa and they are trying to hurt the oil companies and care not about the enviroment.





I heard one guy say it is the rothschild who are behind this global warming scare and they are mad at rockerfeller because he has broken away from then since they put him up and helped him establish his oil cartel. And when he got really wealthy he got cocky with them. they are trying to hurt his profits because he is using his wealth to enact very drastic changes in the world.





enviromentalism is an excuse not a reason to regulate and tax us to death. google sustainable development, or agenda 21 in the google video or youtube section. really eye opening on the real agendas of enviromentalists.





I personally would like to see a little warming, the winters would become more mild, tho still cold but easier to take. it would make up for the global dimming we are experiencing. This global warming armegeddon is a farce, warmer climates (by the way co2 is a minor green house gas and reaches a certain point where it doesn't affect anymore no matter how much you put up there) increases crop production increases growing periods and increases life span something the wealthy slave holders do not like.





You would use less oil and gas to heat your homes too. and thus you would automatically use less fuel which may be something they dont' want, would hurt their profits. Oil is a big control mechnism over others. Less need for it the less control they will have over everyone's lives.

Reply:Could be the fact that they both know global warming is a natural event and it is not caused by man. Why sign a treaty that is a farce?
Reply:Do you really think China and Russia care a mote about pollution? Those two governments have been poisoning one another with benzine for years.





Howard and Bush are right to not sign on to that wacky accord because it is fraught with ulterior designs and has little to do with the cessation of green house gasses. Which, by the way, are produced by nature in amounts that are comparable to what mankind generates.





Common sense tells a person that all pollution is harmful and should be reduced where and when possible, but to believe in man-spawned global warming is tad on the side where facts are not to be found.
